REGISTERING A DOMAIN

You will now see a screen with a large variety of options for different hosting packages. If you wish to continue and only register a domain without a hosting package click on "Continue." If you wish to select a hosting package, do so now. A Linux shared hosting Personal package is the minimum for blog software that does not require a database. It will cost $4.99 per month and will include the cost of your domain. The Linux shared hosting Business package is the minimum requirement for blog software that does require a database. It will cost $9.99 per month and will also include your domain registration cost.

You will now see a summary of your billing. If you registered only one domain name and did not select a hosting package your total should be $5.99. Click "Continue."

If you have not created an account with 1and1 you will need to do so at this point. They will ask for your personal information as well as all your billing information. When you have finished creating your account, press "Continue." If you already have an account enter your username and password and simply press "Continue."

Almost there! Read the summary of your order, click on the box to indicate that you accept their terms and condiations and click on the "Order Now" button.

And just like that you are finished. You will soon receive an email with the details of your purchase and your link to 1and1's control panel where you can manage your domain.

Congratulations! You are now the proud owner of your very own domain.
